    Work Steps

Make UTP cables a type of straight through (straight mounting)

Step 1:

Prepare the tools and materials needed.

Step 2:

Cut the outer skin of both ends of the cable (end A and end B) + 2cm using scissors, then at the end of the A sort the color of the cable according to the following colors: white-orange, orange, white-green, blue, white-blue, green, white – brown, brown. And also sort the cable end B is the same as tip A.

Step 3:

If you have sorted both ends of the cable, then flatten the cable by cutting the end of the cable using scissors, then enter the cable into the RJ 45 connector (make sure the copper position on the RJ 45 connector faces up), then crimp using crimping pliers (so that the connector clamps cables and connectors cannot be separated from the cable).

If it’s sorted, then flatten the cable by cutting the end of the cable using scissors, then insert the cable into the RJ 45 connector (make sure the copper position on the RJ 45 connector faces up), then crimp using crimping pliers.

Step 4:

Then at the end of B sort the color of the cable by crossing it according to the following colors: white-green, green, white-orange, blue, white-blue, orange, white-brown, brown. Then do the steps like step 3.

Testing network connections between computers .

Step 1:

Prepare the tools and materials needed in accordance with the following table:

2.Computer / Laptop2 pieces

Table 3.2 Tools and materials

Step 2:

Enter the LAN cable ( cross over ) to the computer / laptop, then setting the IP address on both computers / laptops is by:

Click start – select control panel – select network and internet

Then select the network and sharing center

Then select and click Local Area Connection

Then select properties.

Then select internet protocol version 4 (TCP / IPv4) and select properties.

Then select (check) on “use the following IP address” then fill in the IP address according to the desired class for example class C like: 192.168.30.2 then fill in the IP address on another computer such   as: 192.168.30.3 (the network must be the same). After filling in the IP address then fill in the subnet mask by: just click on the column then it will automatically fill itself. Then OK.

Step 3:

If the IP address setting is already, then we test whether it is connected or not by:

Open the CMD application (Command Prompt) then type the following command: ping192.168.30.3 (other computer’s IP), then enter.

If in CMD as below, it is connected.

How to share data between computers using a cross over cable .

If it’s connected, just share data in the following way:

Select the data to be shared, right-click on the data, then select share with – then select specific people – then select everyone. Then select Add.

Then select share.

Then select Done. If the data has been shared by another computer, we just need to open the shared data by:

open windows explorer – select network – then type the IP address of the computer that shares the data.
